  • The first charges against four suspects in the armed jewellery heist of Kim Kardashian West have been filed

French authorities have filed the first charges against four suspects over the armed robbery of Kim Kardashian West, in which jewellery worth more than $US10 million ($14 million) was stolen from a Paris apartment.

Four men have reportedly been charged over the robbery of Kim Kardashian in her Paris hotel room previous year.

Officials say brothers Michael Madar, 40, and Gary Madar, 27, worked for the same vehicle service company and were among those arrested on Monday.

The limo driver arrested in the Kim Kardashian robbery was set free Tuesday night. Six others are in custody and will go before the investigating judge on Friday, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office told BuzzFeed News.

Yunice is the only one who has been formally charged; The Guardian reports that three men and one women from amongst the original 17 arrested were released, but 10 men and one woman remain in custody.

A police source said that nearly everyone arrested was known for organised crime.
