- Meryl Streep extended her lead as the most nominated performer with her 20th nomination.

The next people to receive the most nominations aren't even close with Katharine Hepburn and Jack Nicholson having 12 Oscar nominations respectively.

Her last nomination came in 2015 for Into the Woods. A gif! Arguably the greatest actress of her generation, and perhaps one of the best actresses of all time, responded to her historic twentieth Oscar nomination with a gif.

As always, even when she says nothing at all, Streep has the flawless thing to say!

Streep first earned a nomination in 1979 for The Deer Hunter, but won the next year for Kramer vs Kramer.
