  • Tara Palmer Tomkinson did not have a brain tumour her sister said

Ms Montefiore said a coroner found Ms Palmer-Tomkinson had died of "natural causes" and "did not have a brain tumour".

Tara was found dead at the age of just 45 after police were called to her home in London on Wednesday 8th February.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson had been in "high spirits" in the days before her death, according to her sister. "She had plans, trips and had written a moving new song".

The I'm A Celebrity star revealed that she'd been diagnosed with a brain tumour a year ago explaining that a non-malignant growth was found in her pituitary gland - which is why it was widely thought this is what killed her.

'Contrary to some reports, Tara was not the goddaughter of HRH the Prince of Wales'.

It went on to say that there was 'no retreat to a "dark place" as some have disappointingly sought to suggest'.

'As usual she had been busy with the friends and family she loved, and who loved her in return.

She finished her stream of statements by adding: "Lastly there will be a fuller statement from the PT family later today". She also supported numerous charities throughout her life, and was a patron of Blue Sky Autism.

Tara's family previously revealed a private funeral will be held for her in due course. It was reported that the growth in her pituitary gland had been discovered during blood tests.

She was also a newspaper columnist and television personality, speaking candidly about her battle with drugs and her health problems - including in recent months, her tumour.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, close friends with the Palmer-Tomkinson, have paid tribute to the former reality star, saying they were "deeply saddened and our thoughts are so much with the family", while The Duchess of York, whose mother was Palmer-Tomkinson's godmother, added her family were "so shocked by this tragic news of the magnificent, beautifully energetic soul of Tara".
