Additionally, Google also said for Chromebooks and devices with larger form factors it's "focused on building a more reliable, predictable model for "arrow" and "tab" navigation". The more a person uses the app, the better it finds news that's relevant to the user's interest, as pointed out by Android Central.

What Google does with Android goes a long way toward defining the mobile experience for many users, since according to Strategy Analytics, Android accounted for 88 percent of global smartphone shipments as of late past year.

The past few Android updates have seen a lot of features such as Doze mode and Doze on the go aimed at improving battery life.

With Android O, you have an option to snooze notifications for later.

In its annual report on Android security, Google said that while the monthly update schedule has helped, it hasn't fixed the problem entirely. Expect to hear more at Google's I/O event in May. Those who want to try the OS developer preview should manually download it from Android site and flash it on their devices. But if you're new to this, be warned that this is a developer build of Android O, is unfinished and buggy and you will lose data. The update is only available for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices. AMP, or accelerated mobile pages, is a mobile-friendly format for websites to make loading pages faster for users on smartphones and tablets.

Android O introduces notification channels that will provide users with more control over notifications in an app. Users will have the control to block or change the behavior of each channel individually. For developers, they can specify the aspect ratio and set of custom communications like play or pause.

While AutoFill in Android exists in certain applications like Messages and Chrome, the feature is app-specific and is not a part of the whole OS. Developers will need to enable flags in their manifest and also load bitmaps with wide color profile - such as AdobeRGB, Pro Photo RGB or DCI-P3.

(6) Adaptive Icons: Developers can create them in various shapes according to a mask selected by the device.

Kevin Keatts hired by NC State
North Carolina State will hire UNC Wilmington's Kevin Keatts as its men's basketball coach, according to multiple reports Friday. Things were going pretty well, even though Gottfried's teams didn't get any farther than the Sweet Sixteen.

The new release includes a number of smaller updates like a new Autofill API, updated application windowing features, and adaptive icons.

Android Developers blogAndroid O now also supports high-quality Bluetooth audio codecs such as LDAC codec. Wi-Fi Aware will allow apps and nearby devices to communicate over Wi-Fi without the need for an internet access point.

Google has given its mobile search capabilities an overhaul, introducing new tappable shortcuts to surface information on selected topics much more quickly.

Android O aims to solve this with its new "notification channels" feature, which lets app developers group notifications together by type.

Android Nougat past year introduced an optional multiprocess mode for WebView.

The first is notification channels, which allow users to better sort their notifications and mute/allow them by category.

Google's News & Weather app will now show 200 more articles in its upcoming update. The company has a system called Verify Apps that checks users' devices for PHAs and can remove them when they're found.

Android O will arrive with improved support for both new and existing hardware.
