The company announced that Google Home can recite recipes to users while they are cooking.

With a wider rollout of Assistant now underway for Android phones and Wear, Google today announced a developer preview SDK that will allow Assistant to be built into third-party devices.

Once you're ready to rock, simply say "Ok Google, Start Cooking" or "Ok Google, start recipe" and a step-by-step guide will walk you through each step of the recipe.

From there, you'll find a new "send to Google Home" button, provided you have one set up of course. Google also provides the charming examples of "adding smarts to a toy robot to having your electronic potted plant talk back to you", so it's clear that it wants Assistant to take over everything. All you have to do is say "OK Google, let's make a chocolate cake".

Google Home now serves up numerous guided recipe instructions. As with all Google things, this will be rolling out over the next week or so, so if it's not working for you right now, try it again later. Ask your speaker for a recipe. Using Google's gRPC API, developers can also integrate the Assistant into other hardware platforms and use languages like Jave, C#, Node.js and Ruby.

Google Home has finally arrived in the United Kingdom, bringing a number of exciting new features to the connected home.

The company is promising indexed entries from "Bon Appetit, The New York Times, Food Network and many more".

This latest feature has been made possible with the help of Google Assistant, a virtual helper, that has been integrated into Google Home and Google's Pixel Phones. (Maybe that will come in a later update?) "Okay, Google, what's for dinner?"
