Seattle rockers Pearl Jam and the late rapper Tupac Shakur were amongst the latest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, with a Lenny Kravitz performance honoring Prince. Jann Wenner, whose speech opened the show, said of Berry, "no one would be in this room if it wasn't for this man".

Before that, a video played featuring past interviews with Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards and others discussing Berry's sound and style.

The band then performed "Evil Woman" and "Mr. Blue Sky" which sounded stunningly similar to the recorded versions. The group was inducted by Dhani Harrison, whose father George was close with ELO's Jeff Lynne, and told a story about seeing the band and his dad covering "Johnny B. Goode".

Baez, one of folk's most iconic voices, said it felt "cool" to be inducted. "Until I took her backstage at a Taylor Swift concert".

Progressive rock icons Yes were inducted by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush.

Keyboardist Rick Wakeman had the audience cracking up with his speech, which included a number of off-color jokes about masturbation, prostate exams, strip clubs, and the boredom of marital sex. The band performed "Roundabout" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart".

Snoop Dogg inducted fellow West Coast legend Tupac Shakur. T.I. and Treach of Naughty by Nature also took the stage to perform a couple of Pac hits.
