Sculptor of Wall Street's bull wants 'Fearless Girl' moved

It was meant to illustrate New York's resilience in the face of the 1987 stock market crash.

Authorities initially removed the unauthorized work but later reinstalled it following public clamor for it to remain in the financial district.

But Di Modica's lawyers say it has transformed the bull "into a negative force and a threat" and turned his career triumph into a derivative work without permission.

Now, 30 years later, there's a new girl in town. and Di Modica isn't happy about it.

The man who sculpted Wall Street's "Charging Bull" is charging the city with violating his legal rights by allowing the nearby "Fearless Girl" statue to stay until next year. His attorneys say they hope to resolve the issue without going to court, saying they want the sculpture moved. "There are copyright and trademark infringement issues". A lawsuit has not been filed, but Di Modica's course of action will be known later Wednesday.
