It is doing better in the rating department then it predecessor, as "Cars 2" has a 39% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while "Cars 3" now has a 66% rating. Cars 3 ranks as the lowest opening in the franchise and well below the $60 million that Disney had forecast earlier last week.

At the same time, "Cars 3" came in 19 percent behind the 66.1 million Dollars domestic debut of "Cars 2" in 2011, which went on to earn 562.1 million USD worldwide.

"Wonder Woman", which stars Gal Godot as the D.C. Comics superhero Amazon princess Diana, hit a three week total of $274.6 million and its global box office figure stands at $571.8 million.

In third place was "All Eyez On Me", the Tupac Shakur biopic starring Demetrius Shipp Jr. The movie edged past "Rough Night", taking in $11.5 million. The series pales in comparison to some of Pixar's biggest smashes, including last year's "Finding Dory" which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide. The ensemble voice cast of "Cars 3" includes Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, Nathan Fillion, Kerry Washington, and Lea DeLaria. The latest revival of the original Mummy made in 1932 took in US$13.9 million in its second weekend.
