Cosby buoyant as jury deliberates

The jury in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, ended a second night of deliberations Tuesday without reaching a verdict.

The sudden outburst felt distinctly out of place in the deliberations in which Cosby is accused of having drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand in 2004.

Incidentally, Constand's version of what Cosby supposedly did to her while on prescription Quaaludes in 2004, as documents from a 2005 deposition between Andrea and the actor revealed, as CNN shared, mirrored that of almost 60 other women's experiences with the entertainer between 1965 and 2008, according to Rolling Stone. "It is exhausting work and the day has to come to an end", Judge Steven O'Neill told the sequestered jurors when they asked to return to their hotel at 9:20 p.m., after a 12-hour day.

Trial began June 5, and the jury started their deliberations Monday night. They are still ongoing at this time.

Jurors had asked to hear parts of Cosby's damaging decade-old deposition testimony about pills and sex and testimony about Constand's first police report. But the defense team called just one witness to the stand and rested their case in just a handful of minutes.

Ms Constand testified she was mistaken, and prosecutors called a psychologist who testified that victims of sexual violence sometimes have trouble remembering details and engage in seemingly irrational behaviour in response to the trauma.

He talked about how he navigated "consent" with Constand in their first sexual encounter, one Constand denies happened: "I go into the area between permission and rejection and I'm not stopped", Cosby said.

Tillerson consulted with Trump and arrangements were made for Yun and a medical team to travel to Pyongyang, the official said . A 2009 visit by former President Bill Clinton, a Democrat, secured the freedom of American journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling.

Cosby's lawyers have argued Constand was Cosby's willing lover before she invented the assault as a way of getting to his money. Each carries a maximum 10-year prison term, though the counts could be merged at sentencing if he is convicted. One other accuser, Kelly Johnson, testified that she was drugged and assaulted in 1996 as prosecutors sought to establish that Cosby had a pattern of assault. See what she had to say in the video above.

During the trial, the prosecution spent five days presenting a case that included testimony from Constand along with police and expert witnesses. "I am not stopped" (Constand denies sexual activity; she testified she rebuffed Cosby when he touched her trousers by leaning forward).

"Still, generally, the longer a jury is out, the better it is for the defense", said Winters. "Knowing Mr. Cosby is to know he's a comedian".

Cosby maintained only that he gave Constand the antihistamine Benadryl to relieve stress, and that they had consensual sexual relations, accusing her of lying. In the deposition, which became public almost two years ago, Mr. Cosby said he gave Ms. Constand three half-tablets of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl. It is suspected that Cosby may have given her a stronger pill, perhaps the Quaaludes which he had admitted to obtaining in the 70s with the intention of giving to women with whom he meant to have sex, according to the Associated Press. The 79-year-old comedian told the judge that he decided not to take the stand after discussing it with his legal representation.

Pulliam added that Cosby has still been in "good spirits" during her interactions with him.

In July 2015, a judge unsealed Cosby's deposition in that 2006 civil lawsuit.
