Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he would love to see Cristiano Ronaldo return to Manchester United from Real Madrid this summer.

Another big name with Real Madrid connections has been accused of tax fraud in Spain recently.

Ronaldo is now on duty for Portugal at the Confederations Cup in Russian Federation which ends on July 2.

Mourinho, now the Manchester United manager, led Inter to a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble in 2009-10 before assuming control at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is understood that Di Maria agreed to a deal with Spain's state prosecutor on Wednesday in which the former Real Madrid forward admitted to two counts of tax fraud of nearly 1.3 million euros ($1.4 million) in exchange for a lighter sentence.

Di Maria's deal is similar to the one struck by Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano, who was convicted of tax fraud last year and given a suspended one-year sentence.

Spain's counsel, Mourinho gave tax evasion (2011 and 2012) tax in two stages while being coach of Real Madrid (2011 and 2012).

CCH Daily has contacted Mourinho's representatives for comment. A judge will then decide if they are grounds to charge him with a crime.

A prosecutor said Mr Mourinho, 54, did not declare income from image rights in order to get an "illicit benefit".

They claim that Mourinho, who took over at United previous year, failed to declare €3.3 million (RM15.77 million) during his time in the Spanish capital - €1.6 million in 2011 and €1.7 million in 2012. The two were given 21-month jail sentences but neither is expected to serve prison time since it was a first offense and the sentence was under two years.

The hearing will take place at 09:00 GMT on July 31 in a court at Pozuelo de Alarcón, in the suburbs of Madrid, according to Spanish press reports.

Paper Round's view: Ronaldo was reported to have indicated a desire to leave Real, last week, after the club initially failed to back him following allegations of tax fraud.
