Prince William and Prince Harry paid tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of her death with a poignant visit to the Kensington Palace memorial garden created in her honor.

The White Garden, at Kensington Palace in London - the former home of the Princess who died in a vehicle crash in Paris - has been created to mark 20 years since she died on August 31, 1997 in a high-speed Paris auto crash.

On Thursday it will have been twenty years since Princess Diana died tragically in a vehicle crash in Paris.

The princes will be met by past and present gardeners, as well as representatives from the charities supported by Diana in the final years of her life, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, the National Aids Trust, The Leprosy Mission, Royal Marsden Hospital, English National Ballet and Centrepoint.

Kensington Palace, once their childhood home, is now their permanent one: Kate, Will, Charlotte, and George's official residence is Apartment 1A, which once belonged to Princess Margaret, and Prince Harry lives in the palace as well.

"Together, they will reflect on the significant achievements of the Princess and the legacy of her work, which continues to resonate with so many today", a palace spokeswoman told Sky News.

William, 35, and Harry, 32, stood looking at photos and floral tributes left for their mother at the Golden Gates of the palace.

Diana had died in August 1997 in Paris when William was 15 and his brother was 12.

Britain, the nation of the stiff upper lip, was now wailing and hurling flowers at a hearse. But, apparently, she didn't let that misery stop her from confronting Prince Charles and Camilla about their affair.

Her unusual combination of fragility and steel, her need for loving attention and an ability to make those she met feel loved.

"She was such a fun, attractive person, and a humanitarian", Tasha says.

She also had a caring nature mixed with a vengeful streak and the air of being an ordinary girl who was actually a blue-blood aristocrat.

It's a widely known fact that the Prince wasn't faithful to Princess Diana during their marriage.

"It's the heaviest cake I've ever carried", he said. I wanted it to make me.

On the day of her funeral on 6 September, a nation mourned the death of the People's Princess.
