It appears to be a doctored version of news footage from 2011 that shows the then-secretary of state falling after climbing the aeroplane stairs.

He retweeted the GIF, captioned "Donald Trump's awesome golf swing #CrookedHillary", from the account of a supporter whose profile identifies him as Mike from NY.

Mr Trump has poured animosity on the media - and CNN in particular - at rallies and on Twitter, calling journalists awful people and liars.

A spokesperson for Hillary Clinton declined to comment on the tweet.

The tweet revealed a President still reverting to his old social media habits, namely, those likely to earn him quick criticism, less than two months after retired Gen. John Kelly took over as White House chief of staff.

While some Twitter users praised Trump for his "sense of humour" following the golf ball retweet, others berated him.

Kevin Anderson vs Pablo Carreno Busta
The 26-year-old Spaniard, seeded 12th, made the last-four in NY by defeating Argentine 29th seed Diego Schwartzman 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. He played his typical steady, if unspectacular, brand of tennis, earning two winners against just one unforced error.

It comes as Mrs Clinton has released her latest book, "What Happened", which tackles the 2016 USA presidential election.

He is quick to challenge or criticise anyone or anything that might undercut that premise. "It doesn't help in terms of the stature of our whole country", said Mr Schiff, a Democrat from California.

Mrs Clinton's book assigns blame for her presidential loss on several factors, including interference from Russian hackers, accusations levelled at her by former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey and even her gender.

While most of the media will be concentrating on the fact that Trump tweeted an animation of him hurting Clinton, it is also interesting that he chose to tweet a GIF which shows him golfing.

Trump slammed Clinton over her new book earlier this week too, tweeting that she "blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss".

He continued, "The one with Hillary Clinton, knocking her off with a golf ball, really and truly, this is the president of the United States?" Reuters reported. "The "deplorables" came back to haunt Hillary". They expressed their feelings loud and clear.
