A news agency in its story titled, "Bots behind rise in Rahul Gandhi's twitter popularity?" raised doubt on the credibility of twitter handles retweeting Rahul Gandhi's tweets.

Irani, a week ago, countered Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's remark on the Global Index Report that stated India has slipped three notches to 100 among 119 countries of the world.

According to reports the coronation of Rahul Gandhi as Congress President is scheduled to take place on October 26, soon after organisational elections the same day. Aiming a barb at Gandhi, she said, "perhaps Rahul is planning to sweep polls in Russia, Indonesia and Kazakhstan". "I want to thank them for their cooperation on many fronts" tweet and caption "Modi ji quick; looks like President Trump needs another hug" has been retweeted more than 30,000 times so far.

As on Friday, Gandhi has 3.81 million followers and 3,352 tweets. The timelines were also filled with just retweets and no original tweets.

The tweet quickly reached 20,000 retweets and now has touched 30,000, the report claimed, adding a close analysis of this tweet showed that these alleged "bots" with a Russian, Kazakh or Indonesian characteristic were routinely retweeting the Congress vice president's tweets.

Meanwhile, Union minister Rajyavardhan Rathore tweeted on Rahul Gandhi's popularity, calling it "doping".

Beckinsale ended her post by saying Weinstein is "an emblem of a system that is sick and that we have work to do". She claimed Weinstein made advances towards her in a hotel room after asking her to kiss another woman.

Irani also retweeted the reactions of other netizens, including Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar who tweeted, "Desperate times call for desperate measures?".

Replying to Smriti's tweet, Spandana wrote: "Why do we need them when we have you?"

ANI credited the "resurgence" of Rahul Gandhi on social media to a news report claiming that the Congress had roped in Big Data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica for a more targeted digital campaign to woo voters. "Can understand your eagerness to please the I&B ministry and the Bots Janata Party", Ramya tweeted.

The article shared by Irani has raised questions on Congress vice-president's Twitter followers.

Meanwhile, Amit Malviya, the head of BJP's IT cell, said that the Congress was "buy [ing]" support for Rahul Gandhi.
