Last night's show, which was the go-home episode for this Sunday's Hell In A Cell PPV and featured Kevin Owens leaving Shane McMahon laying, Jinder Mahal leaving Shinsuke Nakamura laying, and the final build for both the SmackDown Women's and Tag Team Championship matches on Sunday, drew 2.323 million viewers.

SmackDown Live kicks off with an interview with the King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura.

When McMahon eventually staggered back to the ring, Owens was waiting and hit him with another pop-up powerbomb.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton during the WWE Smackdown Live Tour at Westridge Park Tennis Stadium on July 08, 2011 in Durban, South Africa. It's expected that this match will serve as the main event of the show. Or at least that was the plan, as Owens instead popped up in the audience, spitting blame and vitriol at Shane and blaming him for the assault on Mr McMahon.

Nakamura was able to mount a comeback against Mahal, however, until The Singh Brothers joined in on the attack. Her partner, Charlotte Flair, challenges Natalya for the SmackDown Women's Championship this Sunday at Hell in a Cell. After the match, AJ Styles taunted Corbin on the TitanTron for "squandering another opportunity. because you have the ability of a thoroughbred but the attitude of a jackass".

The New Day will defend their tag team titles against Jimmy and Jey Uso on Sunday inside Hell in a Cell.

The rest of the night was uneventful matches in which Bobby Roode defeated Mike Kanellis, Tye Dillinger defeated Barron Corbin and Randy Orton defeated Aiden English. The HIAC match became the new cage match when pro wrestling ruined the gimmick by booking so much outside interference and nonsense, and they are going down the same road with HIAC.

The show then ended with a highly predictable run in between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens.

WWE has already announced that Owens and McMahon will wrestle each other at the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV (pay-per-view event).

Shane hopped over the barrier and chased Kevin Owens up the stairs, and Owens attacked him from behind then powerbombed him through a merch table. There is no match I want to see more on the show, and SmackDown has done a great job keeping fans interested in a hot rivalry despite the fact that it's been lengthened to such an extreme degree.
