England probe Bairstow-Bancroft clash

  • Ashes 2017 England's Jonny Bairstow 'headbutted' Australia batsman on night out

Bairstow was fined after being one of the players out the night all-rounder Ben Stokes was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub in September.

Australian opener David Warner was famously banned for two matches for a similarly minor confrontation with England player Joe Root at a Birmingham bar four years ago, and the European Central Bank will be under pressure to take heavy action.

Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow is under investigation by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after he allegedly "headbutted" Australia opener Cameron Bancroft.

JONNY BAIRSTOW is the latest England cricket star caught up in an alleged off-field row after being accused of headbutting Cameron Bancroft.

Cameron Bairstow is in hot water over the allegations.

Fox Sports News reporter Neroli Meadows revealed when the English team were on tour earlier this month there was a "late night incident" at the Avenue Hotel in Perth.

OnePlus 5T vs. Samsung Galaxy Note8 - The flagship killer strikes again
OnePlus 5T still misses out of waterproofing, wireless charging and memory expansion, but that is probably for the next time. OnePlus has already rolled out the Android 8.0 Oreo-based Oxygen OS Open Beta update for the Oneplus 3 and Oneplus 3T users.

England were in Perth for a two-day match against a Western Australia XI, their first outing of the tour before heading to Adelaide and Townsville for four-day matches against a Cricket Australia XI. It will "follow up" with players after the conclusion of the first Ashes Test.

At the time, Bancroft was not really in serious contention to make the Ashes squad.

No police report has been filed as of yet and it remains to be seen if the incident will be reviewed by the European Central Bank.

It's the second incident that has sparked controversy in England's Ashes campaign after vice-captain Ben Stokes was suspended for his involvement in a pub brawl before the series.

Whether the European Central Bank deem the Bairstow episode to be worthy of further action or not, it will inevitably lead to renewed questions about the freedom afforded to England players, particularly in light of the Stokes affair.

There was no ban on drinks from the England camp but their players' behaviour was under the scanner."The players sat down and had a chat", said England's Australian coach Trevor Bayliss. We certainly don't want to keep players in their rooms because it is a long tour. Bairstow since then has apologised to Bancroft.
