'Star Wars': Mark Hamill Honors Carrie Fisher One Year After Her Death

30 December, 2017, 01:01 | Author: Evan Mason
  • Revenues for ‘Star Wars The Last Jedi’ dropped 54% from the previous weekend a typical decline for major blockbusters and a rebound from a larger decline through Sunday

Fisher, who was 60, died from sudden cardiac arrest on December 27, 2017, after suffering a medical emergency during a transatlantic flight from London to Los Angeles four days earlier.

As you'll recall, Carrie Fisher tragically died previous year shortly after she finished filming scenes for the latest instalment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

We've written plenty about the negative reaction that The Last Jedi has received from some fans - some valid, some not - with much of the ire directed at Johnson's radical choices for the franchise's beloved characters.

The Instagram account for Fisher's dog Gary also paid tribute to the late star, sharing a photo of her and the pooch together. Namely, Luke Skywalker. The Last Jedi finds Luke in self-imposed exile in Ahch-To, guilt-ridden over his part in driving Kylo Ren to the Dark Side and stubbornly refusing to take part in his sister Leia's dwindling Resistance.

"No one's ever really gone...", he wrote.
