  • The writer Susan Braudy alleges that sexual harassment by Hollywood star Michael Douglas culiminated in 1989 but the

A rep for Douglas did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

"He slid down to the floor, unbuckled his belt, and put his hand inside his pants, and I could see what he was doing", she said during the TV interview. At the time, they were brainstorming the creation of an E.T. -like character. It's not clear if the actor was referring to her ideas about the E.T. imitation, but it's safe to assume it wasn't.

"Michael unzipped his chinos and I registered something amiss."I peered at him and saw he'd inserted both hands into his unzipped trousers".

"I realised to my horror that he was rubbing his private parts. Within seconds his voice cracked and it appeared to me he'd had an o****m", noted Douglas. She then "ran for the door".

"One of my friends said, 'You better not tell people about him.' People were frightened for me", she told Today.

Braudy ran out of the room and straight to the elevator, where Douglas, she alleges, caught up with her and thanked her for helping him. She says he also joked to a group of agents that she was "a screamer!"

In an interview with Today on Friday, she said, "He thought he was the king of the world and that he could humiliate me without any repercussions".

According to NBC News, Braudy described the meeting as "very uncomfortable", adding that she "knew things weren't supposed to be this way". None of it was directed at her; she didn't say it was. Several of her days of work were not even at the office, but instead at Douglas' Manhattan home.

Braudy told The Hollywood Reporter she was not surprised by the way Douglas had issued his denial.

Coast Guard said that the fire happened near the mouth of the Coty River near New Port Richey, northwest of Tampa. Rescue crews initially reported everyone made it to shore, but now say one person is unaccounted for.

Braudy, who was hired by Douglas' production company in the late 1980s, claims she was subjected to frequent harassment by the actor when she worked with him. At no time then did she express or display even the slightest feeling of discomfort working in our environment, or with me personally. I bet she screams in the sack.' I protested, 'Please, don't talk like that. He added, "she may have overheard private conversations, and if she was offended, she could have excused herself". "Suggesting so does a true disservice to those who have actually endured sexual harassment and intimidation".

Douglas explained he "felt the need to get ahead" of the situation and share his concerns about the "nightmare" scenario. He told Deadline he was aware there were stories out there about him, but denied there was any truth to them.

"I just couldn't put this together", he said.

'That rung is something I've only heard about the a year ago.

Douglas, 73, denies Braudy's allegations. He did a statement. "I can not elaborate on something that's so very personal to him", she said.

Camera IconMichael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, who said that her husband is a strong supporter of the #MeToo movement.

Now that Braudy's story is out, in a column published Thursday in the Hollywood Reporter, time and other circumstances will dictate whose version of events will hold sway in the court of public opinion.

She claimed the manner in which he did so was "part of the problem, as is his pretext of victimisation".
